OXY-PRO™ SUMMARY
By: Jim McClung
This summary attempts to provide general information about a new chemical compound and its specific applications in water, wastewater, and sewage treatment.
The product was developed in 2000. The research and development of market applications has been ongoing since that time. Prior to and during this time, we have identified several water and sewage processes that directly benefit from the use of the product. We have determined from live testing within a municipal system and laboratory testing, that when dosing the product from 25 to 50 milligrams/Liter, using a metering pump into sewage lines, it eliminates the “rotten egg” odor (H2S gas) significantly. Listed below are a few of the benefits when using this product as a “pretreatment” in sewer lines. (The dose was effective in the system that was tested for 6-8 miles or 15-20 kilometers; the perfect dose site is at the lift station.
1). Prevents H2S gas from forming by killing the SRB bacteria that causes it.
2). Acts to reduce corrosion that forms inside the air space of the lines that causes sewer pipe cave-ins from the sulfuric acid that gathers in the lines caused by the H2S gas.
3). Removes the slime and other bacteria that collect against the inner walls of the system reducing the flow capacity and stagnating the water, making it a breeding ground for pathogens, viruses, and insect larvae. Prevents biofilm formation in the lines.
